You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.

Artist Statement

My work, Change the World, is both a call to action and a reflection of the urgency required in our current social climate. Centered around the powerful words of Angela Yvonne Davis—“You have to act as if it were possible to radically change the world. And you must do it all of the time”—this piece emphasizes relentless hope, action, and accountability.

The inclusion of the stopwatch is crucial. It symbolizes the pressure of time, the constant ticking that mirrors both our limited moments and the immediacy of our responsibility. Visually, it borrows elements from the Doomsday Clock—a countdown-to-midnight design that warns how close we are to catastrophe. That imagery, paired with Davis’s quote, creates a tension between urgency and possibility. The stopwatch doesn’t just mark time—it warns, it demands, it pushes. It’s a reminder that change isn’t theoretical or leisurely. It’s timed. It’s now.
