In the United States I was discriminated against for being a Mexican, and in Mexico I was discriminated against for being an American.

Lalo Guerrero (1916–2005)  Mexican-American guitarist, singer and farm labor activist.
Guerrero is known as the father of Chicano music. He is particularly associated with the Pachuca/o and Chicana/o movements which challenged societal norms of gender, labor, communication, representation, and ethnicity.

Artist Statement

I picked this one because it is not far for people to be treated differently because I am Mexican and American and it’s not fair for people to be getting treated differently because of where they’re from.
