Art can really challenge us, art can take risks, it can show us our humanity when we don’t see it ourselves. It can help us hear our own voices – and other peoples’ voices – sometimes for the first time. And it can teach us, it can help us experience beauty, it can push us, it can make trouble. That’s why I say art is dangerous in all the best possible ways.

Artist Statement

Utilizing varying interpretations of the grid and my symbolic vocabulary of imagined and found shapes, I embrace the characteristics conceptually and materially of city life and what I am visually interpreting each day within my surroundings and studio. In recent works I have been utilizing outside objects as mark making tools, like the chain link fence behind my studio.
