How come we’re still here? The only answer, and it make sound simplistic, but you know simplicty is very complex. It is because of our inherent strength. Our ability to go past what appears to be the reality.

Abena Joan Brown (1928–2015) American businesswoman and theater producer.
Brown co-created Ebony Talent Agency in 1969, which eventually became eta Creative Arts Foundation, the only African American full service arts collective in the country. Known as “the mother of Chicago’s Black arts community,” Brown and eta worked to tell authentic Black stories by Black people as well as provide full time jobs for African Americans in the arts, nurturing young playwrights, actors, artists, and producers.
