Lois Weisberg (1925–2016)  First Commissioner of Cultural Affairs for the City of Chicago.
Weisberg was a tireless champion of cultural endeavors in Chicago. The focus of a chapter in Malcolm Gladwell’s book The
Tipping Point, Weisberg’s incredible ability to connect the right people at the right time resulted in many of Chicago’s iconic cultural moments. Some of the most well known include Cows on Parade, the Gallery 37 summer arts program, Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Gospel Festival, and the Chicago Cultural Center.
