Government has to understand what people want. And you can’t understand unless you take a risk and do it. People really have a need to reach out to one another. Dance and music are probably the best way to do that.

Weisberg was a tireless champion of cultural endeavors in Chicago. The focus of a chapter in Malcolm Gladwell’s book The Tipping Point, Weisberg’s incredible ability to connect the right people at the right time resulted in many of Chicago’s iconic cultural moments. Some of the most well known include Cows on Parade, the Gallery 37 summer arts program, Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Gospel Festival, and the Chicago Cultural Center.
